# Welcome to PlaneConnection

> Learn what PlaneConnection does, who it is for, and how the four core modules work together to manage your flight department.

By the end of this tutorial, you will have identified which PlaneConnection module matches your role and chosen the right getting-started path.

<Steps>
  ### Step 1: Understand the four modules

  PlaneConnection is organized into four core modules that share the same workspace, user accounts, and data:

  * **Safety Management System (SMS)** -- safety reports, investigations, risk assessments, CPAs, compliance tracking, and training (covers FAA 14 CFR Part 5).
  * **Flight Operations (Ops)** -- trips, aircraft fleet, crew, scheduling, dispatch, passengers, quotes, FOQA, and operational reports.
  * **Maintenance** -- work orders, due items, discrepancies, MEL deferrals, AD/SB compliance, parts tracking, reliability analysis, and maintenance billing.
  * **FBO Management** -- flight board, reservations, point of sale, facilities, financial management, staff, fuel, and a customer portal.
