Quickstart

In this tutorial you will log in to PlaneConnection, get oriented in your workspace, and learn how to move between the Safety Management System and Flight Operations modules. By the end, you will know where everything lives and how to get around.
You will need an active PlaneConnection account and your workspace URL to follow along. If you do not have an account yet, ask your workspace administrator to invite you.
1
Log in to PlaneConnection
2
Open your browser and navigate to your workspace login page:
3
https://app.planeconnection.com/login
4
Enter your email address and password, then click Log In.
5
If your organization has enabled two-factor authentication (TOTP), you will be prompted to enter a six-digit code from your authenticator app after submitting your credentials.
6
PlaneConnection supports TOTP-based multi-factor authentication. You can set this up from Settings > Security once you are logged in.
7
After successful authentication, you will land in your workspace. The URL will include your workspace slug — for example, app.planeconnection.com/skyline/safety/dashboard.
8
Explore your workspace
9
Once logged in, take a moment to understand the layout:
10
  • Sidebar (left): The primary navigation for the current module. It lists all the sections available to you based on your role — Dashboard, Reports, Investigations, CPAs, Risks, Compliance, and more.
  • Module Switcher (top of sidebar): A dropdown button showing the currently active module (Safety or Operations). Click it to switch between modules.
  • Main content area (center): This is where page content appears — dashboards, forms, data tables, and detail views.
  • 11
The sidebar is your main way to navigate. Each item in the sidebar takes you to a different section of the current module.
    13
PlaneConnection has two modules, and you can switch between them at any time using the Module Switcher at the top of the sidebar.
    14
    To switch modules:
    15
  • Look at the top of the sidebar for the module switcher button. It displays the name of your current module (for example, “Safety” with a shield icon).
  • Click the module switcher button. A dropdown menu appears showing both modules:
    • Safety Management System — for safety reports, investigations, risk assessments, and compliance
    • Flight Operations — for trips, aircraft, crew, dispatch, and scheduling
  • Click the module you want to switch to. The sidebar navigation updates to show that module’s sections, and you are taken to the module’s default page.
  • 16
The module switcher remembers which module you were last using. When you log in again, you will return to the same module.
