The Schedule page provides a weekly grid view showing crew members and their assigned trips across each day of the week. Use it to manage crew workload, identify scheduling gaps, and confirm flight assignments.

Prerequisites

  • You must be logged into your workspace with access to the Operations module.
  • Trips and crew members must exist in the system for the schedule to populate.

Schedule layout

Navigate to Schedule in the Operations module sidebar. The schedule shows:
  • Rows: One row per crew member, showing their name and role.
  • Columns: Seven columns for each day of the week (Sunday through Saturday), with dates labeled.
  • Cells: Trip assignments appear as chips showing the route (e.g., KTEB-KLAX), color-coded by status.

Status indicators

Trip chips on the schedule are color-coded:
ColorStatusMeaning
GreenConfirmedTrip is confirmed and crew is assigned
AmberPendingTrip is scheduled but not yet confirmed
GrayCompletedTrip has been completed

Steps

1
View the current week
2
Open the Schedule page. The current week is displayed by default, centered on today’s date. The week navigation bar shows the date range (e.g., “Sun 2/15 - Sat 2/21”).
4
Use the navigation controls in the week header:
5
  • Click the left arrow to go to the previous week.
  • Click the right arrow to go to the next week.
  • Click Today to return to the current week.
  • 6
Week navigation updates the URL with a weekOffset parameter so you can bookmark or share specific weeks.
    7
    Review crew assignments
    8
Scan each row to see what trips a crew member has during the week:
    9
  • Hovering over a trip chip displays a tooltip with full details: departure and arrival airports, time range, and assigned aircraft.
  • Crew members with no trips for a given day show an empty cell.
  • 10
If a trip has no specific crew assigned, it will appear on every crew member’s row so it remains visible. Once crew is assigned, it appears only on the assigned members’ rows.
    11
    Identify scheduling conflicts
    12
Look for crew members with multiple trips on the same day. While PlaneConnection does not currently block double-booking, visual overlap in the schedule grid helps you identify potential conflicts.
    13
    Use the schedule legend
    14
At the bottom of the schedule page, a legend shows the meaning of each chip color (Confirmed, Pending, Completed).

How trips appear on the schedule

Trips appear on the schedule based on:
    1. The trip’s departure date determines which day column it appears in.
    2. The trip’s crew assignments (from the trip_crew join table) determine which crew member rows it appears on.
    3. The trip’s status determines the chip color.
Trips spanning multiple days will appear on the departure day.
