The FBO module includes four purpose-built dashboards that give you a complete picture of your fixed-base operation. Each dashboard surfaces the metrics, charts, and action items most relevant to a specific area of FBO management. In this tutorial, you will tour all four dashboards and learn what each section shows, how to navigate between them, and what actions you can take directly from each view. By the end of this tutorial, you will know how to use the Operations Center for daily oversight, monitor fuel inventory and pricing, track safety compliance and IS-BAH progress, and analyze customer trends and loyalty.
Who should do this tutorial? FBO general managers, operations managers, fuel supervisors, safety and compliance managers, and sales managers. You will need access to the FBO module in your workspace.

Before you start

Make sure you have:
  • An active PlaneConnection account with access to the FBO module
  • At least some operational data in your workspace — aircraft movements, fuel transactions, or customer records
  • Familiarity with basic workspace navigation (see the Quickstart)

1. Operations Center

The Operations Center is the main FBO dashboard and your daily starting point. It provides a high-level view of today’s activity, revenue, and staff status.
2
  • Switch to the FBO module using the module switcher at the top of the sidebar.
  • Click Operations Center in the sidebar. This is the root page of the FBO module.
  • 3
    Read the KPI strip
    4
At the top of the page, six animated counter cards show your most important daily metrics:
    5
KPIWhat it showsToday’s MovementsTotal arrivals and departures for today, with a 7-day sparkline and week-over-week deltaFuel Gallons SoldTotal gallons dispensed today with a 7-day trendRevenue TodayTotal revenue across all service categories with a 7-day trendHangar OccupancyPercentage of hangar bays currently occupied (turns yellow above 90%)Active Service OrdersCount of in-progress service orders (yellow if any are active, green if zero)Safety Events (MTD)Month-to-date safety event count (red if any, green if zero)
    6
Each card is clickable — it navigates to the relevant detail page. For example, clicking Fuel Gallons Sold takes you to the Fuel Management dashboard.
    7
If a critical situation is active — such as a fuel spill, overdue equipment inspection, or an IS-BAH audit within 30 days — a red or yellow alert banner appears above the KPI strip. Click View Details on the banner to go directly to the relevant page.
    8
    Review upcoming arrivals and departures
    9
The Next Arrivals and Departures card shows a compact flight board preview with the next six aircraft movements.
    10
  • Each row displays the direction (ARR or DEP), a countdown timer, the tail number and aircraft type, the origin or destination airport, requested services (as small chips), and a VIP flag if applicable.
  • Rows are color-coded: inbound flights less than 30 minutes out have a blue background, active services have a yellow background, and departures within 30 minutes have a green background.
  • VIP customers have a gold left border on their row.
  • Click Full Flight Board in the card header to open the complete flight board.
  • 12
The Revenue Trend card shows a stacked area chart breaking down monthly revenue by category: Fuel, Hangar, Services, and Other. Use the date range filter (7d, 30d, 90d, YTD, 12m) to adjust the time window.
    13
Below it, the Fuel Margin Analysis card shows a grouped bar chart comparing retail versus contract fuel margins per gallon by month.
    14

    15
On the right side of the Operations Center:
    16
  • Airport Weather shows current METAR conditions at your airport, including wind, visibility, ceiling, temperature, and altimeter setting. The flight category chip is color-coded: green for VFR, blue for MVFR, red for IFR.
  • Staff on Duty lists crew members currently on shift, grouped by role, with avatars and a total count.
  • AI Insights shows up to three demand forecast alerts — for example, a high-volume day approaching or a fuel price change that may require pricing review.
  • Quick Actions provides one-click buttons for creating a new service order, new fuel order, reporting a safety event, or viewing the flight board.

  • 2. Fuel Management

The Fuel Management dashboard gives fuel supervisors a complete view of inventory levels, truck status, sales trends, and pricing.
    2
  • In the FBO sidebar, click Fuel Management.
  • You are now on the Fuel Management dashboard.
  • 3
    Read the KPI strip
    4
Four animated counter cards appear at the top:
    5

    6
    Monitor tank inventory
    7
The Fuel Inventory card displays a radial gauge for each fuel tank (e.g., “Tank 1 — Jet-A”, “Tank 2 — 100LL”).
    8
  • Each gauge shows the current fill level as a percentage, with the actual gallon count in the center.
  • Gauge color changes by level: green above 30%, yellow between 15% and 30%, red at 15% or below.
  • Below each gauge, the tank capacity and last delivery date are shown.
  • If any tank drops to 15% or below, a red alert appears: “Low fuel — reorder recommended.”
  • Click Order Fuel in the card header to open the supplier order dialog.
  • 9
    Check truck status
    10
The Truck Status card shows each fuel truck with its ID, fuel type, current load level (progress bar), location, and inspection status.
    11
  • Each truck displays a status label: Available, Fueling, In Transit, or Maintenance.
  • A load progress bar shows how full the truck is — yellow if below 30%.
  • If a truck inspection is due within 7 days, a warning chip appears.
  • 12
If no trucks are configured, the card shows a prompt to add trucks in Settings > Equipment.
    14
The Fuel Sales Trend chart shows daily gallons sold as an area chart, split between Jet-A and 100LL. Use the date range filter (7d, 30d, 90d) to adjust the view.
    15
The Pricing Comparison table lists retail fuel prices at your FBO and nearby competitors, sorted by distance. Your FBO’s row is highlighted. A color-coded delta chip shows whether you are priced above (red), near (yellow), or below (green) each competitor.
    16
    Review QC status
    17
The QC Status card shows quality control inspection dates and filter differential readings for each truck. Filter differentials above 15 psi are flagged red with an alert to schedule a filter change.

    3. Safety and IS-BAH Compliance

The Safety and Compliance dashboard tracks safety events, IS-BAH audit readiness, training compliance, and regulatory status.
    2
  • In the FBO sidebar, click Safety Dashboard under the Safety and Compliance group.
  • You are now on the Safety and Compliance dashboard.
  • 3
    Read the KPI strip
    4
Four animated counter cards appear at the top:

    6
    Review IS-BAH compliance
    7
The IS-BAH Compliance Progress card shows two sections:
    8
  • Radial gauge on the left with three concentric arcs representing Stage 1 (blue), Stage 2 (yellow), and Stage 3 (green) compliance percentages. The center label shows the current stage and overall score.
  • Chapter scores on the right list each IS-BAH chapter sorted by score (lowest first). Each chapter card shows the chapter number and name, the score percentage, finding count, evidence item count, and a progress bar color-coded by threshold (green above 80%, yellow above 60%, red below).
  • 9
Click Full Assessment in the card header to open the detailed IS-BAH compliance page.
    10
Focus on the lowest-scoring IS-BAH chapters first. Improving these will have the largest impact on your overall compliance score and audit readiness.
    11
    Review safety events
    12
Two charts show safety event data:
    13
  • Safety Events by Type is a donut chart showing the distribution of ramp incidents, fuel spills, FOD events, near misses, and other events over the last 12 months. The center label shows the total count.
  • Safety Event Trend is a line chart showing monthly event counts with a 3-month moving average (dashed line) to help you identify improvement or deterioration trends.
  • 14
    Check open corrective actions
    15
The Open Corrective Actions table lists the five most urgent CPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions) linked to the SMS CPA module. Each row shows the CPA number, linked event, due date (red if overdue), assigned person, and status. Click any row to navigate to the CPA detail page.
    16
If there are no open CPAs, a green success alert appears: “No open corrective actions — great work!”
    17
    Review training compliance
    18
The Training Compliance card on the right shows compliance percentages for each required certification (e.g., NATA Safety 1st, PLST, Fuel QC, Fire Extinguisher, Spill Response) with color-coded progress bars. Below the certification bars, the five crew members with the lowest compliance are listed with their completion counts.
    19
    Check regulatory status
    20
The Regulatory Compliance card shows a checklist of applicable regulations (14 CFR 139, SPCC Plan, TSA, OSHA, EPA, NFPA 407) with status indicators:
    21
  • Green check icon: Compliant
  • Yellow clock icon: Review Due
  • Red close icon: Non-Compliant
  • 22
The last full audit date is shown at the bottom, with a Schedule Audit link.
    23
Regulatory non-compliance items (shown with a red icon) require immediate attention. Address these before your next regulatory inspection.

    4. Customer Intelligence

The Customer Intelligence dashboard helps you understand customer behavior, revenue patterns, and loyalty trends.
    2
  • In the FBO sidebar, click Customer Database under the Customers group. This opens the Customer Intelligence dashboard.
  • You are now on the Customer Intelligence dashboard.
  • 3
    Read the KPI strip
    4
Four animated counter cards appear at the top:

    Review top customers
    7
The Top Customers by Revenue table ranks your top 10 customers over the selected period (default: last 12 months). Each row shows:
    8
  • Rank number
  • Customer name with logo or avatar and primary aircraft (VIP customers have a VIP flag)
  • Loyalty tier badge (Standard, Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum) with tier-specific colors
  • Total revenue
  • Movement count
  • Average revenue per visit
  • A sparkline trend chart showing whether the customer’s spending is increasing (green) or decreasing (red)
  • 9
Click any customer row to navigate to their full profile. Use the date range filter and export menu in the card header to adjust the view or download data.
    10
    Analyze revenue by tier
    11
The Revenue by Tier bar chart shows total revenue broken down by customer loyalty tier (Standard, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum). Each bar uses the tier’s color. Data labels above each bar show the revenue amount.
    12
    Review the acquisition funnel
    13
The Customer Acquisition Funnel horizontal bar chart visualizes your customer pipeline stages: Leads, Contacted, Visited, Account Created, and Loyal (3+ visits). This helps you identify where prospects drop off and where to focus outreach efforts.
    15
On the right side, the NPS Score line chart shows your monthly Net Promoter Score over the last 12 months with a dashed benchmark line at 50 (industry target). The score ranges from -100 to 100.
    16
    Review customer segmentation
    17
Additional cards on the right side show:
    18
  • Visit frequency distribution — how often customers return
  • Revenue concentration — what percentage of revenue comes from your top customers
  • At-risk accounts — customers whose visit frequency or spending has declined significantly
  • 19
Pay close attention to the NPS trend and at-risk accounts. A declining NPS or increasing at-risk count may indicate service quality issues that need immediate attention.

All four dashboards are accessible from the FBO sidebar at any time. You can also navigate between them using the KPI card links on the Operations Center — for example, clicking the Fuel Gallons Sold KPI takes you to the Fuel Management dashboard, and clicking Safety Events (MTD) takes you to the Safety and Compliance dashboard. The sidebar shows live badges on several items:
