What you will learn

By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to:
  1. Navigate the training module
  2. Assign training to crew members
  3. Understand how adaptive sessions work
  4. Review training records and compliance status

Step 1: Open the Training Module

2
From the Safety module sidebar, click Training. The training index page shows an overview of your organization’s training status, including compliance rates, upcoming due dates, and recent completions.
3
Explore the sub-pages
4
The training module has four main sections:
5
SectionPurposeOverviewAt-a-glance training status and compliance metrics.CoursesBrowse and manage the training course library.RecordsView individual and organizational training records.ComplianceMonitor training currency and identify gaps.AssignAssign training to individuals or groups.

Step 2: Review Available Courses

1
Open the Courses page
2
Click Courses in the training navigation. The course library contains training content organized by domain — Safety Policy, Hazard Identification, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Emergency Response.
3
Browse by domain
4
Each domain contains training items covering specific competencies. Items range in difficulty and are tagged with the SMS requirement they address (e.g., 14 CFR 5.53 for hazard identification).

Step 3: Assign Training

1
Open the Assign page
2
Click Assign in the training navigation. Select the crew members or groups you want to assign training to.
3
Select courses and set due dates
4
Choose which training domains or specific courses to assign. Set a due date for completion. Assigned crew members will see the training in their personal dashboard.
5
Confirm the assignment
6
Review the assignment details and confirm. The system sends notifications to assigned crew members.

Step 4: Understand Adaptive Sessions

When a crew member starts a training session, the system selects items based on their current proficiency:
  • New learners start with foundational items and progress to more challenging material as they demonstrate understanding.
  • Experienced learners are presented with items calibrated to their skill level, skipping material they have already mastered.
  • Review items are scheduled using spaced repetition — the system brings back previously learned items at optimal intervals to reinforce retention.
Each session provides immediate feedback on responses, helping learners understand correct answers and the reasoning behind them.
Training sessions are designed to be short and focused. Crew members can complete a session in 10 — 15 minutes, making it practical to fit training into operational schedules.

Step 5: Review Training Records

1
Check individual records
2
Navigate to Records to view training completion data by individual. Each crew member’s record shows completed sessions, scores, and compliance status.
3
Monitor compliance
4
The Compliance page provides an organizational view of training currency. Filter by domain, role, or due date to identify gaps.
5
Export for audits
6
Use the export function to generate training records for regulatory inspections or internal audits. Exported records include completion dates, scores, and domain coverage — satisfying Part 5 Section 5.91 documentation requirements.
