This guide helps you invite team members, assign roles, manage permissions, and remove users from your PlaneConnection workspace.
This feature requires administrator or workspace owner permissions. Changes made here affect all users in your workspace.
Who should read this: Workspace administrators (Admin role). Only Admins can invite users, assign roles, and remove members. You need an active PlaneConnection workspace with at least one Admin user.

Invite a new user

1
Step 1: Navigate to Settings
2
In the Safety module sidebar, click Settings, then select Members.
3
Step 2: Open the invitation dialog
4
Click Invite Member at the top of the Members page.
5
Step 3: Enter user details
6
Enter the Email address, select the appropriate Role, and click Send Invitation.
7
Step 4: Confirm the invitation
8
The invitation appears in the pending section. If you need to resend or cancel it, use the Resend or Revoke actions.

Assign or change a user’s role

1
Step 1: Find the member
2
On the Members page, locate the user whose role you want to change.
3
Step 2: Edit the role
4
Click the Edit button on the user’s row. Select the new role from the dropdown and confirm the change.
Role changes take effect immediately. The user’s sidebar navigation and available features update on their next page load. Downgrading a role removes access to resources the user could previously view — make sure this is intentional.

Designate key safety personnel

If you need to verify or update the Accountable Executive and SMS Manager designations required by 14 CFR Part 5, navigate to Settings > Users in the Safety module. If either position shows “Unassigned,” assign the appropriate role on the Members page.
A yellow warning banner on the Users & Key Personnel page indicates missing designations. Address this before submitting your Declaration of Compliance.

Remove a user

1
Step 1: Find the member
2
On the Members page, locate the user you want to remove.
3
Step 2: Confirm removal
4
Click the Remove button on the user’s row and confirm in the dialog.
The removed user immediately loses access to the workspace. Their historical activity records — submitted reports, investigations conducted, audit trail entries — are preserved for compliance purposes.
You cannot remove the last Admin in a workspace. Assign the Admin role to another user before removing the current one.
