By following this guide, you will use the Safety Analytics page to explore safety data trends, identify patterns across report types and departments, visualize SPI performance, and export analytics for management review or regulatory submissions.
Safety Analytics is available to the Safety Manager, Director of Safety, Accountable Executive, and Admin roles. The analytics engine processes all safety data in your workspace including reports, investigations, hazards, CPAs, and SPIs.

Access Safety Analytics

Navigate to Safety > Analytics in the sidebar. The analytics page opens with a set of pre-built visualizations and a filter panel.

Filter and Segment Data

Use the filter panel at the top of the page to narrow the data set:
FilterOptions
Date rangePreset ranges (30d, 90d, 6mo, 1yr, YTD) or custom start/end dates.
Report typeSafety report, ASAP, hazard observation, anonymous, all.
DepartmentFlight operations, maintenance, ground operations, cabin, all.
AircraftSpecific tail number or all aircraft.
PriorityCritical, High, Medium, Low, all.
StatusOpen, closed, all.
Filters apply to all charts on the page simultaneously. Adjust filters to explore specific slices of your safety data.

Report Volume Over Time

A line chart showing the number of safety reports submitted per week or month. Overlay trend lines to identify whether your reporting culture is improving (increasing volume generally indicates a healthier reporting culture in a mature SMS).

Reports by Category

A bar chart breaking down reports by event classification. Use this to identify which categories generate the most reports and whether any category is disproportionately represented.

Time-to-Close Distribution

A histogram showing how long reports take from submission to closure. Outliers on the long tail may indicate bottlenecks in investigation or corrective action processes.

SPI Trend Charts

Individual time-series charts for each active SPI, showing actual values against Watch, Warning, and Critical thresholds. SPI trend charts include:
  • Data points — individual SPI readings at each evaluation interval.
  • Trend line — smoothed regression showing the overall direction.
  • Threshold bands — colored horizontal bands for each alert level.
  • Annotations — markers for corrective actions or operational changes that may have influenced the trend.

Hazard Risk Profile

A scatter plot showing active hazards plotted by severity (y-axis) and likelihood (x-axis), with bubble size representing the number of associated reports. This view helps identify which hazards are generating the most safety activity.

Build Custom Views

1
Step 1: Select metrics
2
From the analytics page, click Custom View. Select the metrics you want to compare from the available dimensions (report volume, time-to-close, SPI values, CPA completion rate, risk scores).
3
Step 2: Choose a visualization type
4
Select the chart type: line, bar, scatter, or table. The system recommends a chart type based on the metrics you selected.
5
Step 3: Apply grouping
6
Group data by time period (week, month, quarter), department, aircraft, report type, or event classification to add segmentation to your view.
7
Step 4: Save or export
8
Save the custom view for future use, or export the underlying data as CSV for external analysis. Custom views are visible to all users with analytics access.

Export Analytics Reports

Click Export from any analytics view to generate a formatted PDF or CSV:

AI suggestions are advisory only. Per 14 CFR Part 5, all safety assessments, investigation findings, and risk evaluations require independent human evaluation by qualified personnel. AI recommendations should be used as one factor among many in decision-making, not as the sole basis for any safety, operational, or maintenance action. See Legal Notices.
